IDPA Match Information

Basic Description: IDPA club match usually consisting of 4 stages- very basic to quite difficult. Usually a mixture of scenario and standards. Scenario stages are recreations of self-defense events that could or have actually happened. Standards are tests of basic gun handling/tactical skills. Folks are new to IDPA, or who might be checking out our calendar for the first time, should acquaint themselves with our website’s IDPA Program Information, particularly the New Shooter’s Guide.

Match Fee: $15. NCRR members receive a $5 discount. To re-shoot in the same division: $5. Please pre-register on Practiscore.com for the match (search for NCRR IDPA). Failure to pre-register may result in a $5 surcharge. When shooting a second time, you must complete shooting the first time and then sign up. To re-shoot in a different division, the full match fee is applicable.

Brass: This is a lost brass match.

Start/End Times: Set-up begins at 3:00 pm and the match will start when setup is complete. Signup ends at 8:30 pm. While sign-up on Practiscore is encouraged we still do take walk-ons. If you are there by 8:30 you will be able to shoot. If you are arriving late you should call NCRR first to see if we’re still taking shooters. 757-488-9861

As IDPA is a staffed entirely by volunteers please consider coming out to help with setup. For those shooting later in the night please consider staying around to help with cleanup.

Basic Requirements:  Minimum caliber: .380 (BUG division only), 9mm (all other divisions, except CDP). Minimum caliber: 9mm. Semi-Autos: You’ll need at least three magazines: one in the gun and two reloads. Revolvers: Barrel has to be 4.2″ or less. Three speedloaders or moon clips may be carried. BUG: You’ll need at least 4 magazines: one in the gun and three reloads. Holsters: No small of back, cross-draw, or shoulder holsters allowed. This is all covered in the rulebook – please read it.  It is available on www.idpa.com

Dark/Low-Light Stages: Occasionally, we run one or more dark or low-light stages. You are encouraged to bring at least one hand-held flashlight.

Ammunition Restrictions: No steel core, steel clad, hollow point or armor piercing ammunition allowed. Wolf ammo is banned on the NCRR range.

Pre-Requisites: You do not have to be an NCRR member to shoot our matches. You do not have to be an IDPA member to shoot your first three matches, however if you wish to continue participating you must join IDPA.
