Our Junior Program teaches International 3 position smallbore (.22), air rifle, and air pistol for teenage girls and boys. The Junior Program is open to all youngsters between the ages of 12 and 19. Practices are during the school year, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Mondays. A junior may participate for as little as $35 per year.
Our juniors often attend and participate in area rifle and pistol matches. The experience gained in participation in these matches, coupled with the skills learned at the club, build on our Juniors abilities and knowledge of the shooting sports.
NCRR, as an NRA affiliated club, does not discriminate based on sex, race, or religion. NCRR is also affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and has obtained several quality .22 caliber rifles for juniors’ training. Parents who would like their children to participate in this program but do not have .22 rifles need not worry. The CMP has a program to make good quality .22 rifles available at moderate cost, in addition to those that the club provides for their use during meetings and competition.
Currently we have many of our young shooters being invited to the Olympic Development Team and are ranked nationally as well as in the world. We at NCRR have also been fortunate to have several juniors go on to college varsity teams.
