Juniors Program
Aug 19 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Pistol range is closed

Basic Description:  The juniors program is a youth shooting education program.  The focus is Olympic style competition in air rifle, small bore rifle and air pistol.

Attendance: It is open to youth generally 12-19 years old, but is really determined by physical and mental maturity.  Typically we have a waiting list but you are encouraged to contact us to see if we have openings.  In addition we attempt to at least allow an interested youth to observe and participate in one night just to allow them the opportunity to see what it is all about (if this interests you, please contact us first so we can arrange a time).

Equipment:  NCRR provides all equipment necessary to get started.  Eventually most youth will obtain their own shooting equipment but still borrow the club’s guns.

Coaches: NCRR provides NRA certified coaches and Range Safety Officers to work with the youth.

Start/End Times: There are 3 relays of practice time 4:30 -5:30, 5:30-6:30 & 6:30-8:00.

IDPA @ NCRR
Aug 23 @ 2:00 pm – 11:59 pm

Basic Description: IDPA club match consisting of 4 stages- very basic to quite difficult. Usually a mixture of scenario and standards. Scenario stages are recreations of self-defense events that could or have actually happened. Standards are tests of basic gun handling/tactical skills.  Folks are new to IDPA, or who might be checking out our calendar for the first time, should acquaint themselves with our website’s IDPA Program Information, particularly the New Shooter’s Guide.

Match Fee: $15. NCRR members receive a $5 discount. To re-shoot in the same division: $5. When shooting a second time, you must complete shooting the first time and then sign up. To re-shoot in a different division, the full match fee is applicable.

Brass: This is a lost brass match.

Start/End Times: Set-up begins at 2:00 pm and the first 4 non-Safety Officers that set up shoot for free. The last 4 people who help with tear-down shoot for free. No appointment needed. To be flexible we’ll usually take walk-ins until 9:00 PM – the matches run as late as 11:00 PM, and could close as early as 8:30 PM. If you are arriving late you should call NCRR first to see if we’re still taking shooters. 757-488-9861

Basic Requirements: Minimum caliber: .380 (BUG division only), 9mm (all other divisions, except CDP). Minimum caliber: 9mm. Semi-Autos: You’ll need at least three magazines: one in the gun and two reloads. Revolvers: Barrel has to be 4.2″ or less. Three speedloaders or moon clips may be carried. BUG: You’ll need at least 4 magazines: one in the gun and three reloads. Holsters: No small of back, cross-draw, appendix, or shoulder holsters allowed. This is all covered in the rulebook – please read it.

Ammunition: No steel core, hollow point or armor piercing allowed. Wolf brand ammunition is banned on the NCRR range. Bring 100 minimum.

Pre-Requisites: You do not have to be an NCRR or an IDPA member to shoot your first three matches, however if you wish to continue you must join IDPA. You can do so online or over the phone (870-545-3894). We are an affiliated IDPA club and follow IDPA rules.
