IDPA @ NCRR

Basic Description: IDPA club match consisting of 4 stages- very basic to quite difficult. Usually a mixture of scenario and standards. Scenario stages are recreations of self-defense events that could or have actually happened. Standards are tests of basic gun handling/tactical skills.  Folks are new to IDPA, or who might be checking out our calendar for the first time, should acquaint themselves with our website’s IDPA Program Information, particularly the New Shooter’s Guide.

Match Fee: $15. NCRR members receive a $5 discount. To re-shoot in the same division: $5. When shooting a second time, you must complete shooting the first time and then sign up. To re-shoot in a different division, the full match fee is applicable.

Brass: This is a lost brass match.

Start/End Times: Set-up begins at 2:00 pm and the first 4 non-Safety Officers that set up shoot for free. The last 4 people who help with tear-down shoot for free. No appointment needed. To be flexible we’ll usually take walk-ins until 9:00 PM – the matches run as late as 11:00 PM, and could close as early as 8:30 PM. If you are arriving late you should call NCRR first to see if we’re still taking shooters. 757-488-9861

Basic Requirements: Minimum caliber: .380 (BUG division only), 9mm (all other divisions, except CDP). Minimum caliber: 9mm. Semi-Autos: You’ll need at least three magazines: one in the gun and two reloads. Revolvers: Barrel has to be 4.2″ or less. Three speedloaders or moon clips may be carried. BUG: You’ll need at least 4 magazines: one in the gun and three reloads. Holsters: No small of back, cross-draw, appendix, or shoulder holsters allowed. This is all covered in the rulebook – please read it.

Ammunition: No steel core, hollow point or armor piercing allowed. Wolf brand ammunition is banned on the NCRR range. Bring 100 minimum.

Pre-Requisites: You do not have to be an NCRR or an IDPA member to shoot your first three matches, however if you wish to continue you must join IDPA. You can do so online or over the phone (870-545-3894). We are an affiliated IDPA club and follow IDPA rules.

High Power Rifle Match @ Academi range complex in Moyock, NC

This match will all be standard NRA rules across the course match on the electronic target system. Standard NRA rules will be used. There will be TWO SIGHTERS for each stage for this match.

    There will be 3 classes of rifles:

  1. Service rifle (AR-15, M1A, M1 as per NRA rules)
  2. Match rifle (iron sights only and must use a sling, no bipods or bags to rest)
  3. Unlimited rifle (any rifle, any sights, and can be rested via bipod or bags)
    50 total shots as follows:

  • Standing slow fire 10 shots for record
  • Rapid fire sitting firing 10 shots in 60 seconds
  • Rapid fire prone firing 10 shots in 70 seconds
  • Slow fire prone firing 20 shots.

If time allows, there will be a 600 yard challenge match after the main match for an additional fee.

General Match Fee: $45.00 (includes NRA fee)
NCRR and Academi employees: $40.00
Active Duty Military: $40.00

Rimfire Pistol @ NCRR - Indoor Range

Welcome to Rimfire at NCRR.  We are starting back up.  The start and end times will be the same as usual, 4pm until 8pm, last sign up at 7:30pm.

The matches will be held using the following procedures for now. Check in will be on entry and will consist of the following:
1. Checking for Covid Symptoms.
2.  Non-Members will complete the Club Waiver if it hasn’t been done this year.
3.  Non-Members will also be required to complete a Covid Waiver form.
4.  Pay your match fees.  $5 members, $10 non-members

There will be a maximum of 8 people allowed on the range including RSO’s and shooters.

There will be a maximum of 15 people allowed inside the clubhouse at one time.  If there are more than 15 people the extra people will be requested to wait outside in the parking lot or their cars until someone leaves.

No more than 2 people in the dry fire area at one time.

Everyone is requested to observe the Social Distancing Requirements and to wear a mask while waiting in the clubhouse.

The Pistol Matches will be shot using the same setup as usual from the small tables at the 15yd shooting line.

All scoring and shooting will be done the same as usual.

We may have to make minor modifications to these procedures as we proceed, but hopefully everything will go smoothly.  So please come join us and get back to shooting and having some safe fun.
